Anja Crabb is the German-American designer behind Anglindo and currently studying for an MA in Fashion and the Environment at London College of Fashion. She is currently exploring notions of slow design, co-design, modularity, emotional durability and other sustainable fashion principles. Her childhood years were spent her childhood in Indonesia, where she returned to last year. The experience there, the level of poverty and low environmental awareness has turned a personal concern to a professional one. This led to the creation of a fashion label in Summer 2010, which believes in creating uniquely beautiful as well as socially and environmentally responsible clothing.

The Spring/Summer 2010 collection by Studio Anglindo is inspired by the Indian Ocean surrounding the islands of Bali, Indonesia - its opacities providing a spectrum of shades: the breath-taking turquoise colour it has on the palm-fringed beaches but also the moody darker palette it can take during a storm. Reflected in layers and folds of the sheer, most delicate cotton.Hints of traditional textiles, like intricate batik or sparkling songket shine through in linings and or peek through seams.Silhouettes are inspired by the the feminine shape of the fifties, supplemented with some draped shapes.
